TML People Case Study

Growing our own

We’re proud of the fact that a significant proportion of our employees have been with us for over 10 years and we believe in nurturing talent.

Here’s how….

In the mid 1990s, Adam Purshall was working as an owner driver hiring out his services to companies across the Midlands. Despite a successful career, he decided to sell his business and in 1999, he joined TML as a traffic planner, based at the company’s HQ in Worcestershire.

From here, Adam quickly rose through the ranks and in 2003 he was promoted to the role of operations manager, heading up TML’s relationship with key customer Crown Food UK.

Responsible for overseeing three core sites across the UK, his management skills soon became apparent and in 2005 he was promoted to the role of fleet manager.

Continued dedication and an ability to deliver results secured him a further promotion and in 2007 he became head of engineering and compliance. This senior role sees Adam taking responsibility for TML’s quality procedures and its commitment to health and safety. Additionally, he runs TML’s fleet and reports to the board on key issues affecting the business.

“TML has always supported me and the company has been instrumental in helping me achieve my personal goals,” said Adam. “Thanks to them, I’ve been given plenty of career opportunities and I’ve been actively encouraged to participate in training courses and leadership development programmes. The company believes in nurturing talent and if you want to succeed, they’ll help you get there.”
